Carmax review in Dallas, Texas: Car Max sold me a wrecked vehicle, but said it was never wrecked

1.4
Details
I purchased a 2013 Mercedes in March 2014. Salesman said all was clear, no wrecks, that he was putting Car Fax in my records. I specifically asked it car had ever been wrecked, was told no. Went to trade it in a year later, Car Max said vehicle had been wrecked in June 2013, prior to me purchasing it. They offered to buy it back, but for way less than Blue Book and way less than the car was worth had it not been wrecked. I would never had purchased the car had I been told it was wrecked. Strangely, my paperwork copies do not include a copy of the Car Fax, or AutoCheck. Bottom line, they sell you a wrecked car, say it isn't wrecked, then when you try to trade it in, they now find out it was wrecked, and offer you less money for it. CROOKS.

I'm so sorry. My best advice is to get rid of that piece of junk & trade it in on a new or FACTORY certified used car.

You will eat a few grand, but you will be making payments on a car that you can rely on.

Tell everyone you know. don't ever stop.

I recently bought a car at Carmax in Richmond. They treated me very well until I left the lot. Two of my tires are damaged after only 10 days of driving the vehicle. They refused to replace the tires and damaged rims because they consider this to be 'physical...

Didn't hit a curb or anything like that. The tires started chewing off from the side, not along the tread only a few days later.

We went to CarMax because they had a truck we really wanted and it was a great price. We planned on trading our newer vehicle with less miles. They appraised our vehicle $6,000 less than what we were quoted at a local, more reputable dealership. Needless to say, we...

That truck you liked had a "great price" because there were probably issues that needed to be fixed!

Seeing a car online in OK City,OK my son had it brought to the Garland Carmax. They said it had a problem that a tech was looking at because it wouldn't talk to the state computer for inspection purposes. They farmed it out to the local GMC dealer. Keep in mind...

Thank you for grammar lesson, CarMax corporate, this is a prime example of what CarMax is now, versus what it used to be. 6 years ago, theres no way that piece of *** would have made it to the front lot.

Before I bought the car (brought to Houston from California), I checked in the trunk, which the spare tire well was FULL of water. Car salesman had me sit around about three hours while they "tested" the trunk, assured me it did not leak. I bought the car, then the...

I bought a used Nissan Murano at carmax. I had trouble from the start. I had it in the shop almost every 2 weeks for repair. One time the driver seat broke on me!! It was leaking oil on me another time and the car-max repair people told me to just put more oil in...

Purchase a Honda civic with a CarMax extended warranty. After 2 years my AC went out. I took it to my personal mechanic and he saw a small hole on the AC condenser. Which he said that it was likely cause by a small rock in the freeway so I agree. But I remembered I had...

Phyical Damage is Not a worn out / defective part and is seldom covered by any Warr. Dealer or After Market.

So if a gravel truck slung rocks and broke your head light lamp out, Would you gather the pieces up and present them to the dealer and expect a new Head light Lamp Free? If you had a 1 month old NEW Car and some flying object went through the Radiator, You insurance might Pay, But the Dealer will not Warr.

The repair for Free. Sorry but CarMax / Extended Warr folks can reject this claim.

CARMAX RUDE NON-PROFESSIONAL SALES MANAGER

This is at the winston salem ,nc store. Sales people are ok but the sales manager who couldn't understand anything but his arrogance. I paid 249 dollars to transfer a car "MDX 2011 with 3300 miles " from virginia, they did there walkthrough while in virgnia which is a joke saying car is new. They car had paint stains and the left passenger door has been 's a used car meddled with and when i pointed it to him he goes well it's a used car what else do you want , we will fix it and then you have to buy it in 3 days , i was determined to know why do we have to fix a door on this car since the images on the car didn't show it had a problem in it. I tried telling him this isn't what you promised and i want my transfer fee. And here comes the trick , he says he doesn't care about what's wrong with the car this was my cost to get it transfered although it has nothing to do with what they checked before transferring it to Winston Salem.Mr. Precious time quoted i ain't got all day for you" Sales Manager" , then what the *** are you here for. This is the type of customer service they give to people buying a 45 Grand car from them expect what is it for smaller cars.

I have been looking for a vehicle since last october. I have visited the Winston Salem store twice and recently purchased a very nice vehicle with low payments.

The vehicle was exactly what was described to me and both times the sales people were very nice and the process was very professional. Drove 4 hours, but it was well worth the trip !!!!
