I have had my car for a year and had three issues back to back (two today) and maxcare is refusing to cover anything except for the cheapest portion then when I called and complained they tell me I am lucky they are even covering the portion they are.I am calling to cancel not sure if a year later they will allow me to but I will try.

CarMax buyer beware dishonest

I bought my second car from CarMax (a volkswagon passat.) They have had it in the shop more then I have had it home. It went in again same transmission problems. They said they couldn't fix it this time and sent it to a volkswagon dealership. Next I hear CarMax is calling saying they have to have $7000 because repairs weren't covered by factory warranty. A Volkswagon mechanic told me they voided the warranty by trying to fix it themselves. Then when I asked for a statement from the repair shop-nothing-they said they have to work with carmax alot. So I have a car sitting at carmax and they won't return any calls-went to their website which guarantees to answer you within 24 hours-no answer. I am a widow with a limited income-so I am walking-hitching rides to work and not sleeping.

Carmax - Car Max Houston - Cypress Fairbanks

We purchased a VW bug in December from Car Max. On April 12 the drivers window refused to roll up. Carmax fixed the window under warranty and all was good until May 12 when the whole driver's side interior door panel fell off. Upon closer inspection the three attachment points along the bottom edge of the panel were gone. Not broken - but completly gone. You would have had to lay down to see the damage with the door panel installed. I returned ot Car max and was told to stick it. They were basically insulted that I would try to pin this on them. They told me that my daughter HAD to be lieing. I have bought 6 cars from Car Max since 1998 - I will never go back thanks to MJ and Manny at the Houston - Cypress Fairbanks location.

I completely agree with the level of service specified by this customer. I purchased an 2005 honda pilot from these guys, which had a awfully strong air freshner , it slowly wore off and the car began smelling of cigarette smoke.Since we just had a baby, I took the car for detail carwash job and the guys told me they pulled really dark brown nicotine stains when they gave a good scrub on all the exposed plastic/ABS surfaces inside the car.We dont smoke, Carmax Cyfair sold us an awfully Unclean Car.
