Warranty

Buying the warranty is absolutely pointless you pay and extra $1,7xx+ For it and in return you receive virtually nothing in return. They wont cover tow service beyond 15 miles and if you read the contract the list of things they wont fix is 10x longer then the list of things they will fix! And to top it off they have so many stipulations in place that if you cant comply with they can deny your warranty claim.

Disrespectful and Uninformed sales people

Uninformed sales people, lack of professional service, poor communication, lack of knowledge about the transaction. As such, I am cancelling the purchase of the vehicle I had selected and already processed. Let's see if they honor their money back guarantee.

Preventative maintenance is absent in four key areas. The rear end differential. The power steering. The transmission. All those fluids along with brakes needed replacement as per the manufacturer. THEN there is the cabin air filter which was original from 2016 on a 100,000k car!!! Need I describe what WASNT in there?! Because black mold insects dust etc.. smothered the entire unit. And I was breathing that air!

User's recommendation: Ask to see cabin air filter. Takes less than five minutes to take out and reinstall they are behind glove box.

No explanation from carmax.

I paid $99 for a transfer of a BMWxi from southern florida. I was notified of its arrival. Also told that after the inspection..i would be told it was for sale. I waited for several days and no calls from carmax. I,m assuming someone bought it...I,m out the tranfer money...tch...tch. Mary Joyce

Terrible Service and Customer Service

CarMax - Terrible Service and Customer Service
Was told I would get a Smart Key FOB if I purchased the car. The first time I was told to come into the service department to pick it up. It wasn't there they said. They called and said it was there. Upon driving in they said it was backordered. I called to check weeks later and was told one was there waiting only told that these were not available for this model of KIA. However, it is listed in owners manual. I have an appointment with KIA for oil change and will get the truth.

Nothing but lies had to return one truck picked another one no inspection was performed Still having trouble still have no solutions bought my standard warranty out right they cannot work on at a CarMax facility but Im not loud to go to a dealership to get it fixed because its within the 90 days

Expired tires at Carmax

Carmax in Raleigh NC is selling manufacturer expired tires on cars that they pass on inspection by upping their expiration to 10 years instead of following the manufacturer guidelines. I asked them to explain how they can say tires are good for 10 years and the manufacturer only says 6. They fumbled around and basically just say " it's their policy". That's it. I asked for a letter saying that they acknowledge the tires are expired, but still pass their inspection. Absolutely not. They will stand by the inspection, but not enough to put it in writing. Very Shady people!!!!

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

Had an issue with the stubs and the manager(in front of EVERYONE) made me feel like I was a bad person. Antagonized me OPENLY. He could have pulled me in a office/off to the side and I wouldn't have gotten so frustrated in the situation and to top it off, when I got home and double checked my paperwork the items he(management) was looking for were indeed listed! Called CORPORATE to try to have the situation handled further, and NO ONE has responded as of date!
