We brought our Mercedes benz to Carmax for a possible sale. Although 10 years old we have had it for 6 and bought it on a lease turn in from MBZ dealer. No accidents, no body damage EVER! Their estimator put down that the car had been "repainted" and offered us 1/3 the...

People need to stop buying Mercedes and BMW's! Its a status thing and most of the buyers can't afford to fix them.

People need to be more sensible in buying a car that is practical and affordable. These vehicles have very little value when they have high miles on them.

I saw the CarMax TV ad which indicated that they'd buy your car, even if you weren't buying a car from them. I did lots of research (Edmunds, Kelly and Car Finder) to see what my car was worth, including trade-in, sale-by-owner and dealer retail values. By...

They just want to get you in the store! If the appraisal is low and you are not satisfied, everyone just wasted thier time.

If you also were interested in replacing your car, the appraisal would stop the deal.

If you went on a test drive during the appraisal, that also is a waste time. You then would have had a terrible experience at carmax, and its all the consultants fault because we didnt ask you enough questions.

I'm ammazed to review all of the many complaints of consumers at Carmax. I was thinking of trading my 2007 Mercedes C230 for a C300 from carmax. After having my car appraised I immediately researched the comparison of KBB trade-in value. It was below the the lowest...

I went to the Henderson, NV store to purchase a 2000 Grand Prix. It was atleast $2000 overpriced, but I wanted the Daytona trim package. So, I was willing to overpay for the car as long as I got a decent price for my trade-in. When the "offer" came back $3000 below...

I know this an old review but I had this exact same experience today. Got the "non negotiable" offer thousands less than nada kbb etc put in rough shape.

I told them too that if they upped the price $1010 that would at least satisfy my my current loan on the car, still below value but would spend the 25k on the car I was interested in. No budge just bs apologies and "we don't want to insult you" well ya did and I made it perfectly clear that they had for sale almost the exact same car on their lot same mileage and all for 16k and change and I was offered 7k for my very meticulously overmaintained vehicle. Which they found no flaws in might I add. Go f%$& yourself carmax.

I and everyone I will inform of this will never use your store...

Ever. And the prices are not a non negotiate price on their vehicles as they are grossly overpriced to begin with

I took my vehicle to CarMax for an appraisal to see what they would offer me for it. But before going, I did plenty of research to know the true value of the car, which was a 2003 model with only 52k miles and in outstanding condition both inside and outside: Kelley...

AND ALWAYS BUY NEW IF YOU CAN. If you can't afford new, go to a "certified used dealer"

I am simply amazed at my bad luck. Carmax offered a very fair trade-in offer for my car. I took their offer and ordered a BMW transferred from another Carmax store. Car arrived ahead of schedule. On my test drive the check-engine light came on. Salesperson also...

Laws??? Are you really talking law? This seems a fairly straightforward issue, give the guy or the credit union his or their money back.

As for the other poster, I don't think he was asking for cash. I am sure that after 3 weeks, something could be worked out to clear this up.

Clearly the other poster's to this issue have a motto: "what I can get away with as opposed to doing what's right."

You are what's wrong with the auto industry!!

Beware of low ball Carmax offers to buy your car. In my case the the sales consultant used false supporting information in a bait and switch routine with my 2005 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Carmax no haggle purchase price was $1500 to $5000 less than the REAL KBB...

Hey 4getcarmax - I remember you, you were a pissed off *** when you came in the store in the 1st place. SO here is an idea - go sell your car to kellybluebook, OH YA - that right - they don't buy cars!!!!! (DING)

The real fact is that you have no clue what you are talking about - so please do us a favor - and don't come back - you just end up wasting peoples time - that could be better spent with "buying" customers.
