We purchased a 2013 Jeep Wrangler unlimited Sahara. Beautiful Jeep with 127k miles we were assured with the maxcare we would be fine cause it covers everything
Well not even two months later the vehicle was taken in to Carnax cause the a/c was not cooling very well.
Let I remind you this is now in October. It isn’t super hot anymore we reside in Bakersfield ca. Well Carnac was weeks out before they can see our car we were advised to take it to the Jeep dealership. Let I remind you the car is drivable no problem just the cooling isn’t to par.
We drive vehicle into local Jeep were asked to authorize the breakdown cause it would be at least a week before Carnax would so we said yes. Biggest mistake after we authorized it was determined our car had a bad radiator bad water pump and the car at one point overheated causing the heads gasket to be blown. Wow not once did car overheat on us possibly the previous owners cause it did have a brand new thermostat after two weeks of going back and forth yes and no they ended up covering the radiator at one point not the water pump then they said yes the water pump but I unfortunately we got stuffed with the big part of the bill almost 3k yet the covered whatever would have caused the car to overheat in the first point. Even though I had just purchased the car the car was running fine wasn’t overheating nothing like that.
I was still accused of overheating my car. So beware before you have anything done to your car. My biggest mistake was I should have left it at Carnax and let them figure it out but then I would have been like 2 months without a car instead of one. They pride themselves on having a in-house shop but they can’t keep up with the cars returning with breakdowns
Very unsatisfied customer.
This is my third purchase from Carnax however after this experience I will no longer do business with them. Unfortunate for them cause I purchase my cars every two years
