Cheap customer service

CarMax - Cheap customer service
AleI waisted my time today trying to buy a Van. When I got to the Carmax dealer of Ontario I saw the van that I had placed on hold for me to buy it, I walked in with an approval notice and the tires on the van where extremely worn out and the manager on duty refused to replace them. Unbelievable how he would prefer a customer with an approved loan in hand walk out without the car. Poorest service ever.

User's recommendation: Always ask in what condition are the tires before going.

Rusted gas lines

CarMax sells certified cars, they missed the rusted gas lines on a 2014 CLS Mercedes-Benz. Customer service, corporate and the entire company is useless.

Flawed vehicle and was under the impression CarMax covered the repair with a new engine at their cost. Well, seems my warranty was used and the engine was used and the problem has reoccurred.

Car Max and Max Care say they can not help me in any way and the car is sitting at a repair facility. I have made repeated calls and to no avail. The vehicle is a 2014 Ford Escape-Ford has know for years that the vehicles have a flaw, they all came out of the same plant. Car Max still sells the vehicle and says too bad idiot.I was told "make the vehicle semi-drive and sell it, but don't bring it back to Car Max".

User's recommendation: Don't purchase any 2014 Ford Escapes with Ecoboost 1.6 liter engines and make Car Max put everything in writing. They took the vehicle and sent it where they choose to have it repaired, I left the vehicle at the Ontario Ca Car Max, I authorized them to fix the car.

Active situation please advise

Good Afternoon April of 2021 I purchased a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid, an amazing experience Carmax bought my SUV at a great price and I was able to get the car with ZERO issues, even set me up with an appointment to get the small crack fixed in the windshield. I told everyone I knew about my experience and actually my ex-husband immediately visited after. September of 2021 I found out I was expecting my first child, having a hybrid was comfortable and the gas mileage was out of this world awesome, the only downfall was NO trunk storage and planning for a baby and having family 1200 miles away I need a bigger vehicle. I found a Buick encore slightly small but it had a trunk area bigger than what I currently had. I requested the transfer, I felt I had fallen through the cracks I was told it would be delivered one day, then it would go through processing and that took about 72 hours finally after a week of not hearing anything when I would try and reach out for information I was told it didnt pass inspection and they were working on it. Around the same time I had spotted the CX-5 that is in question now. I paid the transfer fee and patiently waited this time I was more adamant about following up and even though it was stressful always being on hold I managed to get answers. When I got the call that the car was ready they were going to schedule me 3 days out to come in and due paperwork I insisted I needed it sooner and they told me they would squeeze me in. Having my first car purchase run so smoothly for the fusion I agreed. I was there the whole day, they did the paperwork once again my car needed to be re-evaluated because it was over the quoted time frame by a day and they approached me with an offer of $1,000 cheaper than just a week prior. They corrected that by the fate that I had requested the transfer so that right there saved the sale. I was not offered a test drive as I was sitting there waiting for everything to be processed. I was not offered any additional services I was looking to get the remote start. I paid only a small down payment of $200 that I should have used for lunch and groceries later on. I am diabetic and pregnant and was stuck at a dealership thank goodness the vending machines accepted credit cards which random but the one bag of Cheetos I bought were already open and stale- this was not on CarMax just goes to show you the luck of my day. I was asked to verify my income after I had already emailed my stubs to the sales member and when I pulled it up on the computer I was told Not sure why you had to look it up we already had it I, of course was locked out of my account so theres was another 15 min of waiting. I was informed that everything checked out as I explained an additional 700 dollars that was on my paystub. I am a Contractor and my start date got pushed out, rather than me looking for a new job they offered to pay me a week for the inconvenience. Once again I was informed everything checked out. On 10/20 I received notification that my loan for the fusion had been payed off. On 10/23 I was contacted by email stating that there was a discrepancy with my pay and I needed to explain the 700 and I needed a letter. I was contacted on 10/25 and was told that I didnt need a letter just needed some basic information. A couple days letter received another call just asking for the company I worked for even though they had all the paystubs. 11/5 I received a phone call stating the Exeter finance has pulled the contract and I no longer have a loan for the car as I work for a contract company for less than 6 months, if I do not have a cosigner or cannot get a new loan through my bank I would have to return the CX5 immediately. Followed by have a great weekend and I will be in touch on Tuesday. Pregnant, type one diabetic and an military vet and now I am being told the car I just registered that previous Wednesday is not even mine. Every time I go out I am taking a risk of an accident in a car I am literally not paying for. I have consulted legal aid and was advised it would be in my best interest to return the vehicle and see about alternate options as my fusion had been paid off and now I do not have a loan. The amount of stress I have been through in just a little over a month has been ridiculous. I have always wanted a Mazda their high safety rating and longevity and low maintenance is exactly what I was looking for, a mom car but not soccer mom. Carmax has a 30 day money back guarantee up to 1500miles this morning I was told to hang on to the car for a few days a few more days of me driving and buying groceries with the chance of going over 1500 miles I have already had the car since 10/15. This is what I would like I would like to bring the car back immediately so I can have piece of mind and be done with this whole situation. I would like a check for the $200 I used as a down payment I will eat the cost of the registration. I would like you to consult with your team I have worked in the home mortgage industry and I understand there are clauses that are not caught I would like them to be reminded that just because it says its approved please let the customer know there could be an issue down the line. Verbiage your way obviously. If I could have been warned I personally feel that this situation could have ended differently and I wouldnt be so stressed out. I am already a step mom to 4 children trust me I dont need the added stress on top of what I already deal with. This has caused issues between my partner and I, this has caused lack of sleep and fear especially at a time where I should be celebrating. I understand this is not all on Carmax they are the middle man in this situation but actions could have prevented and communication could have been improved. I will be in around 4 pm to return the vehicle and the two keys. Thank you

Worst car purchase experience ever!

So, ordered a car through CarMax on 24 October 21 and it is now 4 NOV 21. Should also mention first car order was not shipped as it was scheduled to be so gad to shop for a second vehicle. Now trying to sign paperwork as I co-signed for my grand daughter on the car. As CarMax in Norcross, GA never keeps anyone informed of shipping/delivery status we've gone through the telephone gauntlet for the past few days to see if the xar has even arrived. Still don't know that but now have been informed by three different people on the different calls that 1. They would overnight finance paperwork to me to sign. 2. That I would gave to go to the closest CarMax and sign paperwork or 3. That I have to drive to CarMax in Norcross, GA to sign this paperwork. After a dozen times on hold and inconsistent answers from each of the different staff members I still don't know how I'm going to sign this paperwork. Then, the CarMax call center was no help (extremely rude) nor your Corporate Customer Service number as I've been on hold again for over 30 minutes. I can now see why your customer service reviews are so low. Very disappointed in your sales program. Would appreciate a real person to speak with consistently on the purchase of this vehicle and make sure your staff knows what they're talking about. This has been a real circus.

Need tow service but benefits expired

Purchase a 2013 Jeep compass after trading in the 2013 Kia Rio which I received a 3349 negative equity. Decided to bring the compass back after so many mechanical issues. Returned to CarMax 4 days after purchase. I decided to get a Kia soul which was coming from NC. Received a text message from my sales person joel Perez stating that my financial application was approved and I had to wait on the transfer. I come to the store on 10/20 to sign papers and I get told that I can't get the car and they had to run another credit check on me. I was left on the property without a vehicle so that I can get to and from work. How fair is that. Can someone please call me at 843-692-**** to explain this. Mileage

Th salesman Joe, tells me to go home and empty my car that they are going to buy it. Then I get home and Joe sends me a text. "Your offer is ready, check your email". I check my email and I get offered 1/3 for the car. What a JOKE and what a Liar!!.I hate car salesmen any way, but this guy just re-affirmed why I can't stand them!!!!! CAR MAX is a ripe off!! The then accused me of changing the mileage, because their software did not match the PINK from California DMV. I also took it back to the DMV and they gave me a ph0oe number which only RINGS and says "we are hav9ing a heavy call volume, and hangs UP. I tried for 4 days and over 100 calls, no LUCK. DO NOT TRUST CARMAX!!!!!!!o

Refund for tag title and tax

I am owned a refund on my tax and title i went to my local store and they said they will have corporate send me a check, i want to know if its been processed yet, also it the check MUST be made out to my name as i already had to pay tax and title because this has taken 7 weeks to sort out

Refusal to help

My wife was selling a car at Carmax and afterwards my car broke down in the parking lot. I went inside and the service department was closed. I asked inside what I could do and was told that I could leave my keys in the night drop. And they would be able to call me back to set up a repair. I wasn't called back until I called them late in the day. I was told that they would not be able to help me because they are not taking new people only those that bought cars at Carmax. This was not told to me when I asked the employee for help. I'm stuck out of town now with no help on how to get my car to anyplace for repairs

Warranty

I try to communicate to the dealer of carmax my question it's about the warranty on my car that I buy, it's not passing the 90 days warranty. I have a sound in my brakes I don't know if I have warranty on brakes but because you never call me back I take my car to the mechanic and do a tune up. When I buy the car on carmax dealer they tell me they do good inspection on everything but that's not the true it's was a lie. The mechanic need to replace the spark plugs and brakes.
