I picked a Truck at the Irving location and immediately fell in love with it and wanted to buy it, I was told that another customer was coming to look at it and I needed to give it 24 hours. I did and the next day I called to let them know I was wanting to go ahead and purchase it and I was then LIED to and was told it was sold when in fact the sells rep that was holding it told the receptionist to lie and say it was sold.

After venting to my sales rep I was then told that it was indeed available and I purchased it. 4 days later I took it to the Garland TX. Carmax service center and wanted a noise in the engine looked at and was told it was normal I disagreed and they sent it to Prestige Ford in Garland who then told me that there was metal in the oil pan and the engine was bad. I was then offered a used engine that would take 2-3 weeks to have delivered and another 1 1/2 week to install or I could get a new engine and I would pay the $850 difference.

Either case there would be no warranty for either engine. I contacted corporate and explained my case and they DID NOTHING. I would never buy another car from them if my life depended on it. "The Way Car Buying Shouldn't Be" What a terrible example of putting their most valuable asset (the customer) first.

I am so upset that I am experiencing anxiety and chest pains.

Carmax is a F@#$%^G Joke......... BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

CarMax is offering you a replacement motor and your dissatisfied. I'll bet any other used car dealer in town would not return your phone call after you drive off the lot. Take the motor and enjoy the truck.

How was it past the five days? You said 4 days later you took it for an engine noise. But from both posts you seem pretty reasonable so I am sure you are approaching this in a calm manner and I am wrong.

did anyone know 25% of NEW CARS WITH 0 miles go back to shop in first 30 days ... Serious do your homework before you complain about a issue .

I have Fords that have blown motors after a week not CarMax is fault guy who missed o rings ...

PPL look at the manufactor or previous ownwer first... wow dont buy there than sure carmax would of bought truck back no cost

Obviously you either you can't read or just scrolled to fast. The 5 days was past otherwise I would have opted out of the truck. Thanks for the feedback?

You know you can just return the truck since it was less than five days. A rip off would be buying it anywhere else and being stuck with it. Although you sound difficult to deal with from the beginning so I imagine whatever they offered you or would offer, you would just be upset.
