I bought a 2015 Nissan Altima from CarMax - Southwest Freeway in Houston, TX on April 25, 2016. It had 13,120 miles on it and seemed like a good low mileage vehicle which was still under manufacturer warranty.

On the week of August 15, 2016, I noticed that the headlight on the vehicle started leaking. So I took it to Sterling McCall Nissan to get a warranty repair done on it. When they looked into it, they told me that the headlight was leaking because the vehicle was involved in an accident and the front panel on the frame was damaged and was not repaired correctly. So the Nissan dealer could not get the light back on correctly because CarMax used a screw to screw the light onto the panel so it would look like there was no damage

So I took the vehicle to CarMax and they told me that they did not cause the damages and therefore I am responsible for the damages. They stated that they didn't sell the vehicle with the light installed with a gap because they don't sell cars like that

So I did a search on the vehicle and found the following websites and attached screenshots of it

salvagedb.com - shows a collision on the vehicle at 7,869 miles (before I bought the vehicle)

vinfreecheck.com - shows a collision on the vehicle at 7,869 miles with damage on the left side and frame damage

vehiclehistory.com - shows an entire history on the vehicle. CarMax - North Houston purchased the vehicle from Insurance Auto Auctions (a salvage auction company) in San Antonio, TX with damage on the Left Side at 7,869.

I sent a letter to CarMax regarding this issue with proof of them selling me a vehicle with damage and their legal department sent a letter back that they are not responsible for damages because I was provided with an "Autocheck Vehicle History Report which reported no accidents." They also stated that "The vehicle did not have any frame damage or structural damage at the time it was sold to you."

So far I've told at least 100 people about this and I am trying to contact local news to put this story on TV. Also I am suing the company

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $3000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

CarMax Cons: Sell wrecked vehicles, Sell salvage vehicles.

Location: Houston, Texas
